Medal of Honor Battlegrounds
'For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at risk of life above and beyond the call of duty...'
This is an ongoing project to document as closely as possible Pacific War and Vietnam War hallowed ground where actions were fought and extraordinary acts of valor performed under fire which resulted in the awarding of the Congressional Medal of Honor. As new information comes to light, and as we continue our field surveys and "boots-on-the-ground" research, the below respective pages will be updated accordingly. Please contact if you have any relevant information or photographs to contribute.
'The Medal of Honor is the highest military decoration that may be awarded by the United States government. It is presented by the President of the United States, in the name of Congress, and is conferred only upon members of the United States Armed Forces who distinguish themselves through conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty.'
